Bakaino

The familiar tree/plant in our childhood - the leaves were favorite food of the goats, the fruits replaced pebbles. I don't remember what we had named the game, but we used to play with these fruits. I remember Ranju, Pushpa and myself busy with these tiny fruits the whole day during our school holidays. Sometimes Anu (Shrestha) would also join. It is Bakaino in Nepali language.

I clicked these pics during our HESCO visit. I am writing on HESCO visit, will post soon. Believe me!! I will. Though I have been a liar many times regarding my writing promises... Sorry for that ;) I wish you remind me time and again...

One of our colleagues asked me if i am interested in botany, i replied photography. My colleagues often interrupt me while clicking pictures. If I am clicking a flower, they would say, 'here is the prettiest flower standing in front of you. Don't you see?' I can't deny they are beautiful, pretty and blah blah blah, yet for me, no one can beat the nature!!

They dance, they swing, they curl, they twist... I love the way they are spread in the air, the way they are... Someone said, People click that thing that they are attached to and don't want to leave. Rightly said!! I click them because I can't pass by them without capturing for myself. I post them because I can't stop sharing them with you people. I find love in them and want to share the love with you...

Have I yet not said Hello in 2014? Oh hey, Hellooooo....... Wish you Happiness Forever...!!
Love,

Flower Series : Lalupate

Fascinating Lalupate flowers blooming nearby our office building.

I encountered Lalupate in Kathmandu. I was fascinated by the green fresh leaves turning red. During the initial years, I used to say I would plant Lalupate in our house but yet not got a chance to grow anywhere.

In Vasant Vihar, I again encountered Lalupate. I had not expected Lalupate in Dehradun and was excited again as I used to in Kathmandu. Passing through the single leaved Lalupate plant everyday, I was waiting for its leaves to turn red. One day it started.

I need to get a chance, the time before our office gate opens so I won't be late (and boss do not mark half-day in my attendance sheet). But to reach early to click pictures is always not possible. First I don't remember anything like this at home, second I can't manage everything so early. Getting used to preparing breakfast and lunch early morning is tough. I know you understand, because you know my habit.

One day I did, clicked some pictures and was happy that I could capture at least some shots with dew drops on the leaves. But a friend of mine suggested me not to put any of those pics and to click again. Disappointed, yet agreed because I too was not satisfied with the clicks.

Next day, a colleague showed me another Lalupate tree, in the right of our office building. Oh my God!!! Will I ever be a photographer when I don't look around??? Thanks to him!! I clicked many (as usual) pictures among which some of them are here.

Let me not tell you a lie, I spent another one lunch break to click more pictures. Finally I was happy that I had at least few shareable ;) pictures. They are shareable, aren't they?

May your life be as loving as Lalupate... May love spread...

Flower Series : Chrysanthemum

I had planted a red rose
In my China Clay Gamala
But what grew is
A yellow Chrysanthemum.

These were the lines of my teacher Mr. Shailendra Kumar Singh who taught us English literature in BA. I was his student for "Drama" in second year and "Critical and Creative Writing" in third year.

This post is dedicated to my respected teacher Mr. Shailendra Kumar Singh who is probably still teaching in Padma Kanya Multiple Campus, Kathmandu, Nepal or may be he is retired.

Mr. Singh motivated we students with his poems on our names. I was among those lucky pupils who received one.

This was the time when I realized "Godavari" is called Chrysanthemum and I was doing graduation. Guess how slow I grew...

I was everyday watching these flowers grow on my way to and from office in the morning and evening. I was waiting for a chance when I could store them in my camera. Sometimes it was too late for the office and sometimes too late from the office. I was also waiting for them to fully grow so I can capture different shots.

Today when I reached office, the gate was locked and it was an opportunity to me. I clicked some beautiful shots. Beautiful... aren't they?

I fall in love with plants and flowers... No no, I fall in love with everything in the nature... What usually matters is if my camera has battery or not.

Today was a pleasing experience. Two little girls on the house opposite to where I was taking pictures, were lovingly talking about me. Someday in future, they will also grow a passion for something. Something like photoblogging...

Do you like Chrysanthemum? I do. I wish you happy times ahead. Cheers :) :)

Sahastradhara Plants Continued

After clicking the grass on left, the one I have used in previous post (first and forth image) with sky as background, I was so much interested on clicking more pictures same way. The sky was clean and amazingly lovely that day.

The first one is a fern. I was attracted by its finger like cuts stretching towards the sky.
Fern

These plants were attached on the walls just below the fountain. Green is always my favorite :)

Khajoor trees were abundantly found there. The piercing leaves are beautiful, aren't they?
Khajoor Tree

I had already emptied the Handicam battery and had no camera, my companion passed through it without noticing or probably noticed but didn't find as beautiful as my eyes did. I insisted on clicking a picture of it because I had fallen for its orange-green beauty.
I don't know what the name this lovely plant bears. Probably it is a Cactus... or you name it. Look at the orange petals on its body... Isn't it lovely?

Cactus?? You name it !!

Dhoopi?? Yes Dhoopi in Nepali. The little cute Dhoopi plants on our School's garden were different than this one but I think this plant is also Dhoopi. Not so well captured, but I had spent lot much time to capture this shot.

Huge Gamalas (vases on which plants are grown) on corridors were my first impression of our School SOS Hermann Gmeiner School (Itahari, Sunsari, Nepal). Rubber plants were introduced to me there. I confused it with Bar Trees in initial days but later realized the difference. This pretty new leaf could have been clicked better right? But I could not do better. I turned round all the directions and tried to take a good shot, yet it is not totally satisfactory.

You may think why I mention 'Sahastradhara' while the plants can be found elsewhere too. Yes, they are not unique and exclusively found in Sahastradhara but my lens captured them in Sahastradhara and I want to treasure the memory this way.

Sahastradhara Plants Closeup

I always like to shoot close ups of flowers and plants. You have liked many of such close ups in Gamlazphotography and I am more inspired. Sahastradhara offered some chances to try on close up shots and here they are -

As I have already mentioned in the first post, please help loud images by naming the flowers and plants.
Happy times :) :)
